The Best Burgers In Town
One of the things the Mrs. and I used to enjoy was to sample different burger joints around the area. Over the past several years, we’ve probably eaten at nearly every one of the top-rated places. We’ve slowed down some due to both of our metabolism’s changing for the worse, however. Now, it’s much more of a treat to get a burger than a sampling.
You may be asking, ‘Who has the best burger?’ I guess the answer to that question is it depends. I would say, for me at least, one of the best tasting burgers I’ve had here was at the original Liberty Burger in downtown Dallas (picture below). The custom sauce, the grass fed beef, the freshly baked bun, and the service were amazing!
If you like a hearty burger, one of the best places we’ve tried was right here in McKinney at Rick’s Chophouse. They make the burger with ½ pound of angus beef (enough for both of us to split), served with a huge helping of hand cut fries, and all the dressings.
The Mrs. now enjoys her burgers with lettuce wrapping instead of buns and the best place for a quick, great tasting burger we’ve found that way is MooYah’s. They also have great sweet potato fries; a favorite of the Mrs.
For a fantastic burger with local shopping, you can’t pass up Square Burger just down the street from our home (the burgers are actually round). Combined with a deep-fried pickle and the best sweet potato fries, their custom burgers are amazing (a little pricey, however). After dinner, the McKinney square is a fun place to walk around with family and friends.
Lastly, I couldn’t go without saying, In & Out burger is on my list (not on the Mrs.’s though). The exceptional price, the fast service, the great fries, and the old-fashioned diner feel are all tops for me (and they’re a great family run business who’s not afraid to stand up for their beliefs). I have at least five different t-shirts of theirs in my drawer as well.
I didn’t have anything deep on my heart tonight. I just thought I’d share a part of our lives with you that the Mrs. and I enjoy together. I’ll leave you tonight with piece below about the local Chicago Billy Goat burger joint made famous by SNL’s original cast. It was one of my favorite bits they used to do. Now I know where they got the idea...
Hope you have a great weekend ahead my friends!
