Well, it’s here. Summer is here along with all of it’s glorious heat. Especially, in Texas. You can’t walk outside without the feeling that you just walked into an oven and you’re what’s on the menu!
Today, I’d like to encourage everyone by posting the photo above as a reminder that this too shall pass. Not too long ago, we were having sub-zero temperatures and ice was forming on our homes and outdoor furniture. Oh, how that would be great to have back for a day or two…
In celebration of the heat wave and to relax after a LONG week, I went out and rented a romance movie (I know, Man Card revoked…) called, ‘Midnight Sun,’ about a girl who has a disease that won’t allow her to go outside in the sun. It had great reviews and I figured it would tie right into the now hermit life we all will be living during the heat wave.
I was once asked, ‘what do you do in Texas during the Summer?’ The only things I could think of were going to the movies, eating out, and staying inside. Sure, there are those diehards who love the sun and heat. Not really something many people look forward to (especially the Mrs.), however.
So, to celebrate the end of a long (and productive) week, here’s to staying cool and spending some time with the ones we love. I’m off to have dinner and watch the ‘romance’ movie with the Mrs., but before I go, I’ll pass along the below video for your viewing entertainment.
