Easter’s almost over and I hope it was a good time of rest, introspection, and family time for you all.  Today was a good day for us for another reason; it’s the Mrs. and my, 18^th anniversary of our first date.   We went to the restaurant where it all started and shared a nice meal together.

          It was April 2000 and I had recently moved to Texas from California.  I wasn’t interested in a relationship at the time, but, felt I needed to attend the divorce care class at the church (where I also felt I was supposed to attend).  We met there in that class.  She had already attended the class and felt she should attend again.

          We had talked several times before and I thought it would be nice to get a coffee together sometime.  What was meant to be a few hours at Starbucks, turned into dinner at the Macaroni Grill, Starbucks till closing, and another 3 hours of conversation after that.  We’ve been together ever since and I’m one of the most blessed men in the world for what God did in my life by bringing her into it.

          Our grandson, Ollie, is growing fast.  His expressions are so real and can range from happy one second to sad the next. He’s such a doll.  I thought I’d share a photo we took of him yesterday at his first Easter egg hunt.  He had a lot of fun (especially with the rocking chair we later used to take pictures of him in).  The joy, innocence, and love that this little guy has, makes us all smile.   

          There isn’t anything too deep to share today.  Just a few memories and a photo of the current little Rockstar in the family.  Now, it’s time to go watch one of our favorite old movies with the Mrs., ‘My Fair Lady…’
